Silver Jubilee Celebration of Technical School

        Graduates are common and Degree certificates pour down.  But among every day there is an addition to the unemployed youth. The situation worsens day by day.  What could be the way out?  It is the knowledge of technical skill.  Youth can become independent and self confident if trained in vocational courses. Speaking on the occasion of Silver Jubilee celebration of MCVC section, Shri Ravinda Balapure expressed his views.
        Dr Shambhunath Kahalekar of Shri guru Govindsinghji College of Engineering and SSM chairman Shri Pramod Deshmukh were als
o present on the stage.  Dr Balapure is the Joint Director for Vocational Education and Training courses, Maharashtra.
        “Lord Macaulay introduced such an educational policy that would generate only ‘clerks’.  Technical skills will certainly prove to be a solution.”  Said Dr Balapure.  Dr Kahalekar Said, “Technical abilities would certainly strengthen the nation”.
        In his speech Shri Pramod Deshmukh expressed, “V-1 and fundamental Technical courses are already started here but next year it is planned to start a training course in Mechanical Technology.  This course is equivalent to ITI. After passing the course, the students can have admission directly to the second year of polytechnique course."

        At the end, Shri Sahebrao Bhandare proposed vote of thanks.

Group framing – a blessing to low land owners – Shri Nathrao Karad

Few acres of land and that too without water, proves to be a curse to low land owner.  What is the remedy?  That is none other than group farming.  Certainly, there are hurdles on the path bu our few positive initiations would easily help us to over come/  Group farming can be attached with some additional income sources.  Shri Nathrao Karad also told about raw material needed and scope in market for such products

First Anniversary of Project 'Sagroli Ahead' Celebrated :


Sagroli Ahead Project has been launched to provide education to the deprived pupils to bring them into the main stream of education.  On this Diwali, the first anniversary of the project was celebrated in the presence of the teacher volunteers. Chairman, Pramod Deshmukh and Mr Sanjeev Sagrolikar were present on the occasion.

    The chairman expressed institutions interest in providing stationary and study material to the needy pupils through a sponsorship programme.  He also appealed villagers to contribute to sponsor  such pupils.  Mr Sanjeev Sagrolikar reviewed the activities and achievements, suggesting a few changes in them for the next year.

A Juvenile Get-Together organized


As a tradition, the institutions observed the birth anniversary of Lt Pandurang Sadashiv Sane, familiar to children and elders as ‘Sane Guruji’ – a devoted teacher.
    The instituition organizes a get together on his birth anniversary every year for children in the surrounding villages to inhibit and inculcate moral values in them through story-telling.  It was organized on 25 Dec this year.
    Mr Hemant Barve, an actor and play back singer, Mr Abhijeet Rane, Miss Pallavi Ketkar, all from Mumbai were invited on the occasion.Besides, Mr Laxman Thakkarwad, member, Z.P. Nanded, Mr Rajesh Kulkarni, AGM, SBH and Mr Chandrashekar Kulkarni,  Manager, SBH Biloli were among the other invitees.  According to Mr Barve, “Values are not sold but imbibed on children’s mind unknowingly through elders'  behavior.  A truely learned person always  discriminates between the good and evil around him/her.  A mother always imbibes good values. Sane Guruji had a great impact of his mother on his character and personality.  So a mother is the true source of such moral values.

    A number of students took part in  story telling on the occasion.  The programme was  sponsored by SBH and Mr Thakkarwad.  Approximately four thousand pupils from different schools in the surrounding attended the programme.

Athletes of Sagroli Sunrise Bagged Medals in YMCA Athletics Competitions.


 YMCA i.e. Young Men’s Christian Association organizes state level competitions for different sports every year in Mumbai.  The association runs many clubs for players and athletes to pursue their sports interests. Through these sports clubs, the association aims to produce National Players and Athletics.
The 38th State Level competitions were organized from 22nd to 24th Nov'13 at Kandivali, Mumbai.  350 Athletes participated.  On behalf of SSM, 14 athletes undercoaching through Sagroli Sunrise Project participated in different events such as 400 mts, 800 mts, 1500 mts etc.
Jnaneshwar Kondalwade, conquered the 1500 mts event by braking the previous 04.14 sec record under18 category.  Meenkshi Gaikwad bagged Gold and silver medals in 800 mts and 1500 mts respectively. Chandrakant Devkamble bagged the Gold and Silver medals in 800 and 1500 mts relay whereas Maroti Jadhav bagged the Bronze in 1500 mts relay.

Sagroli Sunrise is the dream project of SSM to bring out  the Rural Athletic Talent.  Many Athletes keep participating in such competitions all over.

Meenakshi Gaikwad selected for National Levels:

Although originating from the rural place like Sagroli, Meenakshi proved successful and made her own identity with hardwork and perseverance.
Meenakshi was a bit upset when she missed the opportunity to participate in the National competition at Patiyala, Punjab, with little difference of 7 seconds. But her timing to cover 1500 mts within 05.08 seconds gave her opportunity to participate in the Inter university Athletics competitions at Nasik.  There she recorded a fine timing of 5 min to cover 1500 mts distance, securing her participation in the All India University Atheletics Competition.

"Her trainers provided her standard time table and training to cut down the excess timing of 8 seconds and to cover 1500 mts distance within 5 mins." Says, Munna Thakur, the Coach, Sagroli Sunrise Project.

Cordial visit by SBH Staff :

        On 25th December, the Birth anniversary of Shri Sane guruji is celebrated every year here at sagroli.  On the occasion this year, a cordial visit was paid by the Assistant General Manager of SBH Shri Rajesh Kulkarni (Nanded) and Shri Chandrashekhar Kulkarni, the Branch Manager,SBH Biloli.  They visited Anand Balagram, Science Park, KVK, Bio-Gas plant and some other units of SSM.  They expressed their happiness over the achievements of SSM and had a friendly talk with students and SSM Staff.

Visit of Sai Smruti Team- A Charity Organization Mumbai :

        Sai Smruti is a charity organization from Mumbai.  They are active in social and philanthropic work.  They believe in the preaching of Shri Shirid in Sai Baba.

        They believe that much money is wasted for no noble cause.  So they collect charity to help the needy.  Sai Smruti is having membership of Caring friends a charity organization.  On 27th and 28th December Dr Niranjan Wagh and Dr Atul Shilwant paid visit to SSM with some other members.  They had visited different projects of SSM and spent some time with students too.

Techno Fest for farmers

        KVK at Sagroli works for eight circles (Talukas) in Nanded District.  It has its affiliation with Indian Council for Agricultural Research, New Delhi.  On 28th  and 29th December KVK arranged a Techno fest, ‘Mela’ on Bajrang Maidan.  It was aimed to introduce farmers with the latest technological developments in agriculture.  Twenty five stalls were setup to exhibit agro products like pesticides, fertilizers, handy tools, tractors etc.. lectures and seminars were also held.

        Earlier, the Techno fest was  inaugurated by Dr Venkat Mayande, Former vice chancellor, Dr Panjabrao Deshmukh Agriculture University, Akola

Farming – a means of National Integration – Dr Venkat Mayande.

        Talking in his inaugural speech at the Agro Techno fest,  Dr Mayande Said, “The Government  is focusing more on non agricultural sector and hence farming is gradually turning into a curse.  Farmers should shun their differences and join hands together for group farming.  If yes, you don't have farm mediatory.”
Shri N K Jawalgaonkar, the Deputy Director of Aatma project said, “ farmers should make more use of bio compost fertilizers to maintain its productivity”.
On 28th December, Agro Techno Fest was earlier inaugurated at by Dr Venkat Mayane.  Other dignitaries present on the state were District Agriculture officer Shri Kowalawar, NABARD’s District Manager Shri Kishor Kulkarni, Shri S B Khune, the Deputy commissioner of Animal Husbandry and Block Agro officers.

        In his concluding speech shri Pramod Deshmukh said, “It is a sad scenario on farm sector.  Youth is no more interested in farm work.  They are interested in rather urban dwelling.  Our prime responsibility is to motivate them to return to farms.  World Economy is directly influenced by agro sectors.  Our next step is to get linked with farmers via internet.”  Thousands of farmers attended this techno fest mela. It was a grand success.    

Installation & Training on Mini Dal Mill – KVK Sagroli

        KVK’s initiative, A mini Dal Mill has been installed at Shardangar for the purpose of demonstration and training.  This user friendly machine was developed by Agricultural University, Akola.
The Director, KVK Sagroli, while giving a briefing about the activity said, “ Using Dal mill for grinding of whole grams have multiple benefits to the farmer.  Apart form giving a place for the traditional grinding process on the whole grams it will benefit the farmer in profits also. He gets double to what he has been gaining so far.  Earlier, a farmer would sell his yield to the middle man and be satisfied with little profits.
Now the farmer is facilitated with mini Dal mill at Sharada Nagar. the whole grams can be ground to pulses and sold in the market at double the profit to what is given by agents or at whole sale market.




The KVK sagroli started giving demonstration and training to the interested farmers and encouraging them to invest on the mini Dal mill.  The participants are being trained in grinding the whole grams to make pulses, polishing and processing.  The farmer-participants expressed great satisfaction on the training and information given to them.

Activities promoted by Sakal Group bring about Radical Changes :

        The women volunteers of SSM joined hand in hand to run  two activities promoted by Sakal Group in the year 2013-2014 with great enthusiasm.
        ‘Apeksha Maharashtra’ and ‘Tanishka’ are the two platforms created by ‘Sakal Group’ to bring about progressive changes in the society, in Maharashtra in particular.
        There has been bubbling and enthusiastic response from the women volunteers of SSM.  Many participants expressed their views and all of them highly commended ‘Sakal Group’ having provided them a platform to unveil their thoughts.
        Shradha Deshmukh, co-ordinator, Utkarsha Vocational training centre, sagroli, said that the Sakal Group applied ‘Big fast’, ‘Result BRF’, ‘Sakal Training Satta’ methods for training the women participants.  She also expressed her hope that the Maharashtra State, would be the pioneer for such activities and stand a model state for the rest of our Nation to follow.

        A number of women representatives spoke in the session and expressed their commitment to contribute for the development of the Rural Society.

A workshop organized for the vet-officers

        Malegaon Yatra, as everyone knows, famous for Animal trade apart from devotional importance.  Thousands of animals, particularly of equine family are brought to the fair for trade.  Due to the heavy crowd and poor facilities, the animals suffer from various ailments and heath issues.
    Keeping this in view, the SSM’s equine welfare project has organized a one day workshop for the vet officers and supporting staff of train them discharge their duties at the Yatra efficiently.  The participants are given expert advices and training on attending the ailing animals, take preventive measures.

        The workshop was organized at the Yashwantrao Chavan Auditorium, ZP Nanded. All the officers of the Dept of Animal Husbandry and the veterinary dept attended the workshop.

 ‘Equine Welfare,’ a major Animal Welfare project run by SSM, works day and night for the welfare of Animals, Donkeys in particular. It has conducted a major workshop for the keepers of Equine family of Animals like Donkeys, Horses etc at Malegaon.
        The multifarious ‘Malegaon Yatra’ (A Devotional fair) has a unique identify for itself.  The ‘Yatra’ attracts lakhs of people .  Apart from a holy concern, the yatra (the fair) is famous for animal trade, particularly the animals of equine family.

        The KVK sagroli has conducted an awareness camp & a health check up camp at the fair site.  The keepers of equine family animals are educated on first aid treatment to injured or ailing animals.  The animals on the site were tested and treated accordingly.  The Veterinary Doctor and other staff of KVK, sagroli devotedly served the animals for 5 days.

Awareness campaign at Malegaon Yatra

        The equine welfare project of SSM has conducted awareness campaign on the welfare of Donkeys, Horses and other Domestic animals.  Different media were chosen for the campaign.  The most effective media was staging street plays  on the theme reflecting the cruelty, Maltreatment to Donkeys given in the rural Habitats. The street plays were presented at the Yatra.  The volunteers of equine welfare project were successful in reaching out the cause.

Owns Half an Acre land, yet feels rich !!

        Madhav Gundure R/O village Sangavi (Tq Degloor)  a lord of less than Half acre farm, was dragging through the life.  He used to run a small grocery too to support his financial needs.  Hard working by nature, Madhav took the maximum benefit out of his half acre land but he really started growing when he came in contact with the KVK, Sagroli.
        Madhav was informed about the Mukt Ghota Project (Open Farm Shed) at KVK and he implemented it immediately at his place.  He had only one buffalo earlier but now he owns 7 milk yeilding buffalos, giving him a clear profit of Rs 1000/- per day.
        The concept of ‘Mukt Gota’ allows the domesticated animals to graze freely on the plains costing the land lord nothing.  They are healthier than the barn-restricted animals and yield more milk.

        Madhav runs a small grocery too.  He reiterated the benefits of Mukt Gota Project at the Krishi Taluka Mahostav organized at KVK Campus, Sagroli.

60 Days Vocational Training

        Utkarsha, the vocational training centre of SSM commenced a 60 days training in plumbing course.  The youth, who completed their plus two at the rural colleges remain unemployed due to lack of vocational skills.  It is pathetic to see the educated youth  work as security, watchman or wander unemployed.  To whatever extent possible, the ‘Utkarsh’ helps such youth in training and placement in various technical trades.

        The fresh batch of 20 trainees completed 20 days of training.  The SSM is planning to place them at rightful places by contacting the organization at Pune, Mumbai and Aurangabad.  Previously, SSM has nominated many a trained youth.  All of them are making a happy living.

Homage to Mas. Babar Pradeep :

        Mas. Pradeep Babar, a VIII std student of Sainiki Vidyalay succumbed to an ill fated destiny on 30th Nov 2013.

        Considered as ‘The Gem of the School’. Mas Pradeep lost his life in an accident.  All the teachers and students expressed their deep felt condolences and paid homage to Pradeep.  May his Soul rest in peace!

‘Giving Back Culture’ shown by A past student of Balgram :

         Mr Panchal Manoj, who was a resident scholar of ‘Balgram’ few years ago, returned with his hands full to give back something to the school, where he is given a shape, groomed as a responsible youth.  Mr Panchal has been donating in the past in different forms, wherever he got a chance. 
        This year too, he continued his act of philanthropy and expressed his regard towards his school, teachers and fellow, young pupils.

        SSM commended his act of philanthropy in a gathering organized for the purpose.

Women should take initiative in Industrial Sector – Sow Yamini Mahalley.

        Sow Yamini Mahalley, a renowned Industrialist who left her well-paid job in abroad and started farming on her own, urged the women living here, to take interest in Industrial sector.  There is much scope to do in addition to farming.  She is a successful entrepreneur. She told them about benefits of group farming.

Self-Help Groups for women – A key to socio-economic growth – Kishor Kulkarni

Why does NABARD promote SHG in rural area?  Not just to grant an amount for petty gains but to make women independent financially and socially. The idea of SHG is based on 'Unite and Grow' mantra.  This scheme has specific aims & objectives. In his appraisal Shri Kishor Kulkarni well explained the Plans and policies for SHGs. He is the District Manager for NABARD.  He also ensured that NABARD would support all SHGs for rural development.

Floriculture – A boon to Farmers – Shri Prasad Dev, Mukhed

        Use technology, adopt innovative ideas and be a successful gainer in flora culture.  Poly house and Net house are the commonly used and they are economical. Farmers should turn to flori culture for a reliable source of income.

State Level Award to Mr Navnath Mane

Mr Navnath Mane, an Asst. Teacher SCS High school has won the State Level Award in an Essay Writing Competition organized by All Maharashtra Marathi Teachers Association.

The award was presented to him at Mumbai.  The award consists of a memento and Rs 701/- cash.  Mr Mane gave the whole credit to the institution, where, he mentioned, pupil's overall personality development programs are implemented consistently through many co curricular activities.
